The cottages are set in the heart of Caldbeck Common in the
Northern Lake District. This is ideal walkers country with
a good mix of easy rambling or hiking up Blencathra or Skiddaw.
(On the left are our cottages!)
For the
less energetic, the gently rolling countryside is beautiful
for a stroll setting the scene for amazing sunsets and sunrises.
Nearby are the lovely villages of Caldbeck and Uldale where
you can dine & shop.

In John Peel Country, Caldbeck is a pretty and peaceful village
with a collection of restaurants, cafes, antique shops, a
goldsmith and clogmaker!
The bustling
market town of Keswick is only 14 miles away (and a lovely
drive!) with its theatre, shops, cinema, restaurants and galleries.
Cockermouth (the poet Wordsworth's birthplace) is also 14
miles and the border city of Carlisle is only 16 miles North
with Hadrian's Wall being only a few miles further.
